White Tara (Sanskrit) and Drolkar(Tibetan)
Drolkar represents the fertile aspect of compassion. A female meditational deity who is regarded as the embodiment of all the buddhas’ enlightened activities. She is also sometimes referred to as the “mother” of all the buddhas and is associated with pristine cognition and compassion. Her body is white and sits in the royal posture on a moon and sun discs, upon a lotus flower. In her left hand she holds the stem of a blue lotus of compassion, while her right hand makes the gesture of generosity. She is easily recognized by her seven eyes:three in her face, two in the palms of her hands, and two on the soles of her feet. The Green Tara is usually associated with protection while the White Tara is often associated with long life, healing and purity.
Tara Mantra (Invocation)
