Hi Elin,
It rained here yesterday for the first time in eons. And, it was actually cool last night... at least cool enough that my little throw (only long enough to cover half of me) was not sufficient for real comfort.
I like to garden too. As I'm in the desert, there are certain limitations... plants need to be able to survive very hot and dry, but winters will also freeze... occasional snow, nothing like Norway, I'm sure... (oh, but you are by the ocean. How does that affect your weather)? I lost a big beautiful cactus due to freezing. I dug it up when I moved from the valley and thought it would be so happy returned to the desert. We live and learn. The cold is new to me and I have to learn how to protect my plants, or I guess only the hardiest will survive.
Are you under your name on Facebook? I would like to add you there (I will try to find you). My computer actually functions a little better there. It took weeks to add some people here. It is because of my dial-up speed 28,000 kb... very slow and DSL is not available as yet. I haven't been able to change my profile picture. This pic was one I "erased" my hairline to use for a cartoon of me and iPeace pulled it up somehow. I feel like Queen Elizabeth without the gems (and a few other amenities)!
I can't see your note so hope I haven't missed anything. Thanks so much for writing. I really enjoy hearing from you.
Love and peace,
Judy
Hi Elin,
Thank you for sharing with me. I hope that you are feeling better. I'm sorry about the death of your coworker. That was wonderful to allow the children to write poems and draw pictures in honor of her. I know that helped, not only in coping with her loss, but also with the fears and grief that surface in thinking of losing, or having lost loved ones. Death, of course, always reminds us of how uncertain our own time is in this world. It is a reminder to put our time here to good use. I, too, have been thinking of this, as yesterday was my dear mother's birthday and she has only been gone for a little over a year. You make a good point, that even death has it's positives, in that it brings us closer together in our sharing the loss, and as a reminder to respect one-another.
I hope that you are recovered from the flu. Is the weather cold there now? It is still very hot here, but with yesterday's beginning of autumn, there is a change in the air. Nights are getting cooler.
Thank you for your friendship, Elin.
Peace and ♥♥♥ to you.
Judy
♥♥ Hi Elin ♥♥
I'm having computer difficulties as well. I think it is due to my slow dial-up, as everything seems to function okay on a friend's computer who has DSL. I can't view my email or confirm friends from my computer. Hope all is well with you in your busy world!

Hi Elin,
You have a fascinating life and I can tell that you are one to be thanked and admired for all that you give back to society. I worked for many years training and counseling persons with developmental disabilities. I am semi-retired now (I hope). I work part-time assisting one man who has health issues. My mother passed away a year ago. I cared for her for two years while she was bed-ridden. I have much to catch up with in my own personal life... fixing my mother's house and such. I am happy to no longer be working full time. I am focusing some of my energy on creating world peace... nothing matters more, but it's difficult for those who work so many hours supporting themselves and their families. I am happy to be able to contribute as much as I can. I live in a nice community in the high desert in the state of California, USA. I love it here. I lived for many years in smog and stress, watching my world get paved over. It is lovely here! Thanks for writing. I would love to hear more from and about you when you get the chance.
