When it comes to peace, how would you describe yourself?
I am a born activist
What do you believe are the 'burning issues' today?
So what is it?
The issue is spiritual in nature.
What must we overcome to achieve peace?
Seek God within, give up hatred and choose love. With a fundamental heart-felt connection to life and a concern for all sentient beings, peace is possible. We must be deeply concerned about the impact of our actions and the outcome for others. Love is cultivated within oneself, as oneself and it is never lost or gained. As each individual becomes loving, peace spreads. One of the fastest ways to get out of conditional love is service to others. :) Be kind to all living things and enter into a spiritual relationship with the universe.
Extend your circle of compassion and find peace.

Can we change the world?
More about me
I do lots or work in the areas of environment, sustainability, animal rights and human rights. I eat a compassionate diet and choose clothing that does not inflict suffering upon other sentient beings. I believe in being kind to all life and love and respect Mother Earth. I'm also an artist, mostly painting and some mixed media.

Here is a beautiful piece of film (only 3 minutes long). Enjoy! :)
Promise to respect others and refrain from spamming?
I'll do my best

Here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

Matrin Luther King Jr. regarding his eulogy...

Tell him not to mention that I have a Nobel Peace Prize--that isn't important. Tell him not to mention that I have 300 or 400 other awards--that's not important. Tell him not to mention where I went to school... I'd like for somebody to say that day that Martin Luther King Jr. tried to love somebody.

Do you want me to tell you something really subversive? Love is everything it's cracked up to be. That's why people are so cynical about it. It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don't risk anything, you risk even more.”

--Erica Jong (American writer and feminist, 1942)

"Human beings should love animals as the knowing love the innocent, and the strong love the vulnerable."

I tried to find Him on the Christian cross, but He was not there; I went to the Temple of the Hindus and to the old pagoda, but I could not find a trace of Him anywhere.

I searched the mountains and the valleys but neither in the heights nor in the depths was I able to find Him. I went to the Kaaba in Mecca, but He was not there either.

I questioned the scholars and philosophers, but He was beyond their understanding.

I then looked into my heart and it was there where He dwelled that I saw him; He was nowhere else to be found.

--Jalaluddin Rumi

New Legislation Takes On Congo's Conflict Minerals. Please sign the petition to end the war!

The conflict in eastern Congo is being fueled by a multi-million dollar trade in minerals that go into our electronic products. Over five million people have died as a result, and hundreds of thousands of women have been raped over the past decade. The armed groups perpetuating the violence generate an estimated $144 million each year by trading in four main minerals, the 3 Ts and gold.
