When it comes to peace, how would you describe yourself?: I feel the pain in the world

What do you believe are the 'burning issues' today?: War, Hunger, Poverty, Education, Human Rights, Our Shrinking Freedom

So what is it?: Global understanding and respect of differences, not imposing one country's (USA) "ideals" or "freedom" on another. The right for every country to chose its path to govern through its people, Peace first and whenever possible, aim to nonviolent resistance

More: Its a toss up between avarice and hatred, Obviously there are big economic gains to be had for certain international interests (not just the US) but I also fear that we have become so divided by our identity labels that hatred and misunderstanding, the refusal to appreciate differences in opinion and let them be, the frightening evangelical rise in the US and the ever shrinking separation between church and state on which this country was founded all fuel the mess we are in in this country and globally

More about me: I was an immigration/criminal defense lawyer but found it exhausting, depressing, and emotionally toxic. I volunteer now but have become a physicist studying particle physics and try to be as active as I can in the presidential campaign this year which has been volatile to say the least so far
