When it comes to peace, how would you describe yourself?
I am a pacifist
What do you believe are the 'burning issues' today?
War, Hunger, Poverty, Our Planet, Violence, Human Rights, Our Shrinking Freedom
So what is it?
The intense suffering of our people and our planet, the ongoing genocide of some many innocent men women and children
What must we overcome to achieve peace?
Fear
More
Fear of the unknow, fear to change, fear to be the one to take the first step. I feel like we all have alot of knowledge on what makes us all different and not enough information that brings us together
Can we change the world?
Definitely
More about me
I believe that violence only breeds more violence. I believe that our planet weeps for changes to be made. Together I believe we have the strength of millions to intiate healthy more peacful times. I have to believe that love and acceptance will always ultimately win over violence and hate.
Promise to respect others and refrain from spamming?
Yes

Dear Teresa
I just re read your thoughts....this town used to be without an ounce of violence.
It is a beautiful place, but in the last many years many things have happened (have you heard about the American Amanda and the case of the Halloween murder? this is the city of that crime)
Many times the papers are filled with "foreigner kills..." or "might have been a foreigner". And that does not help the image of foreigners, at all!
I guess we have to start with the very young, tyring to make them into good students and good young people. Because it is so easy to fall into racism, and violence considering what the young are like nowadays.
good knowing you
what a battle
but I do believe that the little things can help
they HAVE to.....

Teresa
reading your words moved me....
i am almost speechless (difficult for me)
Please stay in touch
I can imagine not knowing what you can do...surrounded with the newest crime
where DOES one begin
maybe writing about it, expressing it, trying to see who and where someone has the answer
horrible
but you look like a sweet sensitive soul
good luck
thanks for sharing it with me
stephanie
Hi Teresa,
Yes the crime rate dropped 23 percent during I think a 7-week period in the summer of 1993 during the months of june and July. Here's a site that tells more: http://www.alltm.org/pages/crime-arrested.html. Thanks for asking.
Namaste,
Bill
