if you are for a

better world, you must

tell everyone with urgency in your voice--

"I am for a better world!"

if you are for a

better world then you must behave

in a manner that says, "I am for a better world but

being so does not make me better than anyone,"

it merely makes me more aware of our

common denominators--

if you are for a better world

then you must act, with urgency, in a way… Continue

Thoughts on Peace

Peace...

is sitting by the beach watching the waves rolling ashore.

is being kind to others, even those whom you may disagree with.

is a “knowledge” in your heart.

is wishing for people everywhere being kind to one another

is sitting on the dock at the end of the day, watching the sun fade away

is a warmth that lies within one’s heart

is communication and compromise

is hope, hope held in your heart and soul

is making the world (blogs) a better… Continue

When I came to earth two thousand years ago

“The only biological aspect of my birth that is truly relevant to your understanding is the human DNA change which occurred at that time. That change has been resounding through the centuries like the Master key of a tuning fork, affecting every new generation of children. DNA is the physical carrier of love; therefore it conforms to whatever quality of love is presented to it. The energetic transmission of this higher love is a frequency within the Sacred Heart given by the Creator, to be… Continue

Any prayer asked in love, or honouring love will be answered

“Any prayer asked in love, or honouring love will be answered, but it will be answered through the ways of love, nurturing the real you that exists beyond the problem. Neither the universe nor its Creator has a covenant to answer the prayers of your ego, to solve its self-made problems, or to make its fictions result in happiness. Your Creator is one with reality, so how can He answer a prayer that seeks further separation from the love and the reality that He is? Even if He were willing, how… Continue

It is vital that you reverse the world’s view of time

“It is vital that you reverse the world’s view of time if you would recover your true nature of being. The world considers history and the momentum of time to be the force and foundation behind present time experience. By that reasoning, you would certainly be what the past has made you. By contrast, the viewpoint of true being sees the past as a panorama of experience, education, goals, and desires that have finally been reduced to relative unimportance. It is you who reduce the past—not the… Continue

The True Meaning of Peace

About FAAVM Peace

www.faavm-canada.org

The achievement of peace (pyeonghwa) refers to a subject partner and an object partner being one with each other. The Chinese characters for pyeong and hwa mean "horizontal" and "harmony" respectively. The subject partner does not come into conflict with the object partner, but harmonizes with it.

Peace carries the meaning of becoming horizontal and harmonizing. It cannot be accomplished alone. However, one should firstly be at… Continue

found this and thought i'd share with my friends

Detachment

Christians surge into the fray;

Muslims beat themselves and pray;

Jews are eager to repay;

Hindus starve, Buddhists decay...

Where's the love and unity

Behind this grisly sovereignty?

Why are We so deaf and dumb

To God's pure equilibrium?

Jesus loved Moses;

Mohammed loved both; and,

Krishna and Buddha

Have taught the same growth

But we close our

Eyes and our

Ears and our

Hearts while… Continue

Arundhati Roy (2002)- The Peace Blog

"Last year, like many others, I too made the mistake of scoffing at this post- September 11 rhetoric, dismissing it as foolish and arrogant. I've realized that it's not foolish at all. It's actually a canny recruitment drive for a misconceived, dangerous war. Every day I'm taken aback at how many people believe that opposing the war in Afghanistan amounts to supporting terrorism, or voting for the Taliban. Now that the initial aim of the war -- capturing Osama bin Laden (dead or alive) -- seems… Continue

The Paradox of Our Time -GEORGE CARLIN

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers; wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less; we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families; more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense; more knowledge, but less judgment; more experts, yet more problems; more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive… Continue

Join me in the Fight to free Troy Davis from death row

Although his conviction has been controversed and there is a growing amount of proofs pointing to his innocence Troy Davis might be executed anyday as the Supreme Court has refused to re examine his case although the court of Georgia suspended his execution on September 23rd.

Davis has admitted being at the scene of the shooting but has always claimed that he did not shoot MacPhail. No physical evidence against Davis has ever been produced, the murder weapon has never been found…

A poem

Your presence is a gift to the world,

You're unique and one of a kind.

Your life can be what you want it to be -

Take it one day at a time.

Count your blessings, not your troubles,

And you'll make it through what comes along.

Within you are so many answers,

Understand, have courage, be strong.

Don't put limits on yourself,

Your dreams are waiting to be realized.

Don't leave your important decisions to chance -

Reach for your… Continue

Hate and love

Hate and love are natural biological processes,

that people have no internal control of.

If they are impressed on us at a young age

by our environment who is responsible

parents, teachers, leaders or enemys?

Only engineering can reduce the pressures that

make violence profitable and reduce the level of stress

Habitat stress extends beyond the human

to the wilderness environment.

Love is a natural result of a… Continue

Poverty

I think it's a great idea for people all across the world to blog about poverty as a means of raising awareness! I am afraid the realities of poverty, however, will be difficult to eradicate. But we have to try, and we have to keep trying!

The psychologist Abraham Maslow, in categorizing the human hierarchy of needs, puts adequate food and shelter at the bottom of the pyramid. What this means is that people can't listen to pleas for peace, brotherhood, or anything else unless they… Continue
