In June 1995 at 4:30 in the morning, I went up to the roof top of my house with my sage, sweetgrass and smudge bowl. I was going to greet the sunrise and pray with my prayer pipe.. It was so quiet and everything was still.. there was a light morning fog... SACRED FALLS

It was a two mile trek

into dense jungle growth

from a round clearing

into a fast running creek

over round smooth slippery stones

one had to bend low

to get into the dense jungle path

stepping carefully

yet stumbling over tree roots

into a path of tall jungle plants

a path pink from fuschia flowers.

dwarfed by immense rock cliffs

where previous waterfalls fell
