OUR DEEPEST FEAR

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure

It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us

We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?

Actually, who are you.. NOT to be?

You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won't feel unsure around… Continue

Ghandi - A short profile:

"Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (2 October 1869 – 30 January 1948) was a major political and spiritual leader of India and the Indian independence movement. SUCCESS by Ralph Waldo Emmerson

“ Success is
to know that one life breathed easier because of you,
to earn respect of honest critics,
to endure the betrayal of friends,
to leave the world a better place than when you came into it.”
(Ralph Waldo Emmerson 1803-1882)

Greeting Sunrise at the Summer Solstice

In June 1995 at 4:30 in the morning, I went up to the roof top of my house with my sage, sweetgrass and smudge bowl. I was going to greet the sunrise and pray with my prayer pipe.. It was so quiet and everything was still.. there was a light morning fog... I lit the sage smudge and blessed myself, then lit the sweetgrass and prepared and blessed the prayer pipe for the morning ceremony. As I made my morning prayer offerings of tobacco into the pipe bowl, I sat looking to the East, praying with… Continue

Poem: Sacred Falls

SACRED FALLS

It was a two mile trek

into dense jungle growth

from a round clearing

into a fast running creek

over round smooth slippery stones

one had to bend low

to get into the dense jungle path

stepping carefully

yet stumbling over tree roots

into a path of tall jungle plants

a path pink from fuschia flowers.

Out into a clearing

dwarfed by immense rock cliffs

where previous waterfalls fell

could be heard the… Continue

Hear the Drum Speak

HEAR THE DRUM SPEAK

Hear the Drum speak.

Let it remind you

of days with the Old Woman

the Visions she saw

the Dreams she had.

Hear the Drum speak

of days of learning

to smoke the Pipe

of burning Tobacco

and Sweetgrass.

Hear the Drum speak

of days we Fasted

for guidance

from the Creator

and in gratitude.

Hear the Drum speak..

Poem: Spiritual Singer

Spiritual Singer

Few hear the Songs

sung ceremoniously

for the People's strength

to keep the Indian Way alive.

Still fewer see the Faith

songs of Life

for the People's struggle

to keep themselves alive.

Spiritual Singer, song maker

tilt the head upward

releasing songs of life

to the Great Mystery.

To greet the new day

the Morning Song

to honour the Grandfathers

the Stone Song.

The Woman's Drum

THE WOMAN'S DRUM

So long, the Woman's Drum

has been quiet

while women looked to men

for the Teachings.

Now, the realization comes

to seek Women

for the Sacred Teachings

of the Creation..

Women, search out

the Sacred Teachings

of our Grandmothers.

Take up the Drum

sing the Women's Songs

of the Healing Ones.

So long, the Woman's Drum

has been alone

kept in the back of minds

silent in… Continue

Poem: To The Earth Mother

TO THE EARTH MOTHER

As you lie sleeping

in the winter season

I marvel at your Beauty

Such a short time to rest

preparing for the work ahead.

My Mother, the Earth Mother

from whence Life comes

in the Circle of Life.

Though the ignorant ones

scoff at our bonding and

connection to the Land

Earth Mother

we continue to be your Keepers

caretakers of the Land

giving and taking in Balance

as directed by… Continue
