The Economy

The state of the U.S. economy has been at its worst since the Great Depression. Dow Jones dropped 800 points five days ago, and only went up 400 points four days ago. The Bailout Plan did not pass through Congress, but then it did pass (give thanks and praises). My physiology professor said that at the rate that we are going, if the nonsense in Washington does not stop, then my university and all public and private institutions will close within two months. We need a solution to the problem, and I think that the government is spending too much money fighting two wars that cannot be won, and will not be won. In particular, the war in Iraq...one of my good friends is getting sent soon...
I just wish people would understand that fighting is not worth all this money, and there is a better solution. I think it is about time that peace takes over in the United States and we won't have such a sitting duck president like George Bush to instill fear in the American people and the entire world.

If I could tell George Bush anything in person, it would be this:
"There's one thing I know, though I'm younger than you...that even Jesus wouldn't forgive what you do!"

To the Republicans and those who like to profit from war:
"Tell me one thing: is your money that good? Will it buy you forgiveness? Do you think that it could?"

People who are uneducated in the theory of peace dismiss it because they do not understand it. They fear peace because it is too "weird" for them. They get flustered when a person of a different color or race like myself...and Arundhati Roy...and Yoko Ono...and Martin Luther King, Jr....and Bob Marley... stands up for something that they do not understand. Power corrupts indefinitely, and it is the theory of hatred that has taken this country by the testicles (or ovaries, if you will). People fear other people because they are not of their ethnic group. Well, I say to them that there is a better way to solve the world's problems than pulling a gun on someone, or bombing the country that they disagree with...

No more weapons! No more guns! Let peace consume this nation!
