Being a channel myself allows me to get in touch with some very pure information. It is from a much more celestial realm than this one but much of it can be applied to this world and assist our inner growth.

ASCENSION HELP OR HINDER?
Here I am interested in both. Now my psychic skills let me SEE where the energy is coming from and whether it is positive or negative energy. If it is negative I warn people. A bit like a human radar. Interesting, eh?

Allow me to explain. Not every channel is for our benefit. Many are but many are not. I myself channel the White Goddess. Some of my friends see her too. Now this being may well live on Sirius, but how do we know he has our best intentions at heart? Not every channeling session is beneficial. I have had a couple of bogus ones years ago. If there is more interest about false channeling I will tell you so you can protect yourself.

BY THEIR FRUITS YE WILL KNOW
A very basic method for working out if a channeler is for you or against you is to ask yourself.

"Is this message warm and assists my inner spiritual growth?"

or

You could become psychic and see the energy at its source. This is what I do.
