Blessings Letter

Years ago, when I was a young mother I was inundated with chain letters which proclaimed some magical pyramid scheme to get lots of money ($1. at a time), or a lifetime of kitchen towels etc. Those letters always bothered me, even though I loved my friends that would send them to me. One day I received one with such a negative warning about what would happen to me if I chose to not participate, that I wrote a Non-chain letter and sent it to all of my friends with some little gift in it. I sent it without a return address, and no way for them to know who it came from. I never told anyone about it. It felt so good sending this out, that I started sending the letter and gift out to people who's addresses I got out of the phone book, even complete strangers.

Nowadays, I receive chain letters by email. Usually, I will return the letter to the person that sent it to me (if that is the request), with prayers and blessings for that person. I don't send them on to anyone else. Today, I received another promising dire consequences should I not send it to everyone I know, so I felt compelled to pull out the non-chain letter and modify it for email. I'm sending this to many of my friends, and I thought I would share it here.

Most of us have, at one time or another, received a chain letter (snail or email) that was supposed to bring us good luck. But, most of them have some qualifier, like you have to send out 20 copies to other people. For some odd reason, they usually also include some major warnings of horrible things that will happen to you if you break the chain, (This used to be built in so that people would get all the pyramid things that they were connected to) which in my mind negates the blessing.

THIS IS NOT A CHAIN LETTER! It was originally conceived (years ago) in reaction to a chain letter, as an alternative, but that is where the similiarity ends. It does not need to be passed to anyone to be fully effective. It is a blessing of love that I am sending you, for truly I love you. Because of my prayer for you, my love sent to you, the blessings wished upon you, you will experience good luck, abundance of your highest good, and a welling up of joy in your heart - should you accept it.

Should you feel like sharing your love and blessings to others, you may copy and paste this into an new email, if you wish. I would encourage you to add a gift of your thoughts, your art, your poetry or some other personal expression of your feeling for them. What goes around, comes around, and you will reap benefits from sharing, and there is a synergistic effect from a blessing letter like this. As more people participate, much more energy goes into the blessings, building a web of healing, positive energy. The most immediate benefit to you is the expansion of your heart, as you share with those you care about. Even greater benefit, though, is to the world. The more we bring love through us to the world, the more we will all be peace together.
