Peace Begins Inside of Me

I haven't watched the news, or read the newspapers most of my life. I have actively avoided that bombardment as a spiritual practice. Those things that I need to know, those things that I can make a difference or help turn it around are brought into my awareness, always. However, I purposely side-step the constant inundation by negative news which simply serves to fill my heart with fear.

One of my main jobs on this planet has always been as a peacekeeper. That is, that I hold peace in my heart for the rest of my "tribe", the rest of humanity. I create peace in my heart to share with all those in my presence. I work at consciously maintaining an attitude of unconditional love. I hold my daily gratitudes up for my own inspection.

I believe that in order to live in a peaceful world, I need to be a peaceful person. That is the biggest part of peace on this planet that I can be, the most active thing I can do. It begins inside of me...

And it begins inside of every other individual who dedicates themselves to this cause.
