Message from Annual Meeting Co-Chairs
As co-chairs of your Annual National Committee Meeting, we have several announcements regarding the meeting in Durham, North Carolina, July 23-26.

We're passing the savings on to you!
The Annual National Meeting Committee is working hard to make this a high-quality and low-cost meeting. We have recently reviewed our budget and cut costs significantly. In order to pass the savings on to you, we are extending the earlybird registration price of $130 through June 28. After that date, registration will increase to $160 (was to be $190 for on-site). Register now.

Reserve housing and meal plans by June 28 - absolute deadline!
It is very important to reserve your housing and meal plans NOW.

http://www.gp.org/2009-ANM/

Housing must be reserved by Sunday, June 28. North Carolina Central University (www.NCCU.edu) has been holding a block of rooms for us since February. They now have two other groups waiting for rooms for other events at the same time as our meeting. We must tell NCCU our final room count by this date. After June 28, we will not be able to guarantee you dorm space on campus. Note, if you need to register and pay for housing now but delay paying for your actual meeting registration until later, contact Brian Bittner at 202-319-7191.

Workshops! Caucuses! Committee Meetings! National Committee Meeting!
We are thrilled to put out the following workshop options (all are subject to change until closer to the meeting). All workshops will take place from 1:30 PM, Thursday, July 23 through 12:30 PM, Friday, July 24. There will also be a number of workshops on Saturday and Sunday for non-delegates and local attendees. We'll have four tracks for participants: Issues, Campaign School, Skill-Building/Party-Building, and Committees and Caucuses. The exact schedule is still being finalized - check the tentative schedule. Thank you to all of the workshop presenters who have volunteered their time and talents.

Fun!
The Triangle Greens are planning a great event at the Marvel Event Center in the heart of Durham. There will local food, a cash bar and entertainment. Come and join your Green friends. Register for this event here.

You know you want to be there! Register today.

Greens Win in June 9th Elections

The Green Party had a very successful election day on June 9th, winning four of five races. Three Greens ran for City of Portland (ME) Charter Commission. Ben Chipman, running in District 1, won his race with 62% of the vote. Anna Trevorrow, running for an at-large seat, won her seat with almost 13% of the vote amongst a field of eight candidates. Dan Jenkins, running in District 2, came very close to winning with 45.5% of the vote. Congratulations to two Green members of the City of Portland Charter Commission!

In Whately, Massachusetts, two Greens became (we believe) the first husband-and-wife team of Green officeholders. Nate Fortune was re-relected to the Whately Elementary School Committee, and Joyce Palmer-Fortune won her race for Whately Select Board. Congratulations to Nate and Joyce for helping turn Whately, MA Green!

Hundreds of Green candidates are still campaigning for fall 2009 elections. To find candidates near you, check out our on-line elections database.

We need you to keep the Green Party Strong!

What can you do now?
Donate what you can to strengthen our voice so that we can make our vision a reality. If you have given recently, please consider giving more. And if you haven't given in some time, please consider making today the day you give.

Make a commitment to help monthly.
If you can only afford a little each month, you can become a monthly sustainer. Sustainers help the party maintain a steady income by donating every month with a credit or debit card. Having a steady income helps us budget for campaign schools, ballot access drives, and direct financial support to local, state and federal candidates.

Already a sustainer? E-mail office@gp.org if you can increase your monthly donation.

Thank you for your financial support!
