IRONY AND PEACE -- nothing to laugh about?

Is humour out of place in peace? Is there nothing to laugh about here? Is it hard to smile when such news shocks us and we glare into space asking "Why?" Do people "get it" if they see something with double meaning, a play on words about peace, something cheerful, when newspapers and television broadcast gloom and despair?
An interesting experience I had was when I exhibited ninety photographs of China in Foligno, Italy during the event Humourfest. Along with my show, was an international competition regarding China's Olympics. There were dozens of negative, yet ironic cartoons regarding China, and definitely they could be very offensive to the Chinese. My photos, on the other hand, were very positive, seeing the human side of China (most photos taken from a yard away after "asking" people to be photographed).
THAT was irony, all those cartoons, and I cannot say that they were totally accepted by all, but they were extremely daring and thought provoking.
Here, is humour out of line when talking PEACE?

IN REALITY WHEN I STARTED PUTTING MY PHOTO WITH PIZZA I DIDN'T THINK ABOUT THE SENTENCE "GIVE PIZZA A CHANCE". IT WAS A FRIEND IN IPEACE THAT SUGGESTED ME IN HIS COMMENT. I am so sure about 1 - one - thing, and that is; If it hasn't been for all my questions, the humor and laughter and the tuch of self-irony in my life, I would be dead by no! Yupp - dead! It is not eazy to get it right in a language that is not your own - and when many of us has a different mother-language, then it can be dangerous not to ask...(my opinion).
I am not the best english-language-writers in the world, but I am doing it ok -could be much better - but if you had some -dauths?- it is so eazy to ask if I ment "this" or "that". Or isn't it????
Some people WANT to feel effended -jumped at, while other people do everything to get it right :)
I am learning and evolving all the time, thank you, and if I can, everybody can :):) - IF THEY WANT TO! and have the courage to meet with her/his own fears.
It is beautiful when someone does! and liberating! - bringing up a need for fresh oxygen - to refill your batteries - and everybody have their own way to do it! Laughter! That is Humor - a refill of oxygen to our brain, so that we can understand more, evolve, learn from eachother and from our inner source?
