It’s been a little bit of a lean period of late, not only for winners but also runners with some small fields across many racecourses.
Cheap Nike Air Jordan I’m hoping to put at least one on the board this weekend ahead of the Ebor Festival starting next Wednesday at York.
I’ve been very much looking forward to Showing Character, who has two wins from two races, reappearing.
He has an entry for the Group Two Gimcrack Stakes over six furlongs on the final day at York, but he’s more likely to go for the Listed event over a furlong less on the same day. More about that in next week’s column.
Back to today and my best chance of a winner from three rides at Haydock Park’s sister Jockey Club racecourse at Nottingham is Hot Coffee in the fillies’ handicap at 4.20pm.
This is a horse which I like and I’m disappointed that she hasn’t done better this season. Thirteen months ago she won on her racecourse debut at Haydock Park but she hasn’t been victorious since.
I rode her more patiently at Glorious Goodwood a fortnight ago and that suited her better.
Air Jordans for Sale The only issue was that there isn’t much room in the closing stages at the Sussex track, but that will be resolved today as the East Midlands racecourse offers her more space. It’s a smaller field this afternoon which is good news as well. Fingers crossed for a good run.
Tomorrow sees me across the Pennines on Town Moor at Doncaster.
Air Jordan 6 Retro Sale I’m delighted to be riding racecourse debutant Custer for trainer William Haggas in the 3.40pm race. I’ve ridden for the Yorkshireman-in-exile in Newmarket only once before – and that was a winner!
Air Jordan Shoes Sale Humidor (below) is a horse I have wanted to ride for some time and I get my chance in the 4.50pm race.
He’s raced at Group One level in his time, but hasn’t won for a good while. He’s dropped down the handicap now, so maybe tomorrow will be his time again.
