Tired of lace and washing my face
Proper manners and saying grace
Sick of tiny tea sets and game of croquet
Too much sheltering...my strenth wanes away
I want to cross the street and have some fun
Get my clothes dirty, enjoy ribbons undone
Need to open that gate, find a real playmate
Nannies and mommies suffocate
Need to go where I can breathe real air
And take someone up on a daring dare
Need to skip a few streets down
To where the charity children play
I want a good time today. *
