This month, Feeding America is commencing our inaugural “Fill a Bowl, Feed America” campaign. The campaign is built on the idea that each time we fill a symbolic, virtual bowl, we provide the hungry with the opportunity to survive and even thrive. One in eight Americans is struggling with hunger -- that’s 35 million people. You can help us fill their bowls with food, and their hearts and minds with hope.
Even a small donation can help provide many meals to the hungry. Every $1 donation to Feeding America provides 16 bowls of food to those in need. And now, with a special grant from Kraft Foods, every dollar you donate will be matched up to $200,000!

Food Bank Employee Lives and Breathes Disaster Relief
Since Donald Stagg became Director of Operations of the Southeast Texas Food Bank nine years ago, he has supported the food bank through many hurricanes. With each storm, lessons are learned and improvements made to enhance the food bank’s disaster-relief capabilities. By designing the food bank to also serve as a shelter, Donald can now stay overnight in times of emergency allowing him to address damage immediately and begin restoring operations as quickly as possible.
When Hurricane Ike hit in September, Donald slept at the food bank seven days a week to sustain disaster-relief efforts. His commitment has enabled the organization to accept truckloads of food 24 hours a day and maintain service to its agencies. “This is truly the most rewarding job I have ever had in my life, and I am happy to go to work every day,” said Donald.

Hallmark Thanksgiving Cards: Consider giving a Hallmark Thanksgiving card this year and 1% of all sales go to benefit Feeding America. Cards can be found in all Hallmark stores, Walgreens, Kohl’s, Wal-Mart and thousands of other grocery retail partners.
Pillsbury “Home is Calling”: Pillsbury is encouraging people to share the warmth of home this holiday season by supporting Feeding America. Consumers can view the new “Home Is Calling” advertisements on Pillsbury's web site and forward the link of the ad to a friend. Every time the link is forwarded from the website, Pillsbury will donate to help Feeding America deliver more than one pound of groceries to food banks nationwide.
Shop eBay and Support Feeding America: Use eBay Giving Works to list items on eBay and donate 10% to 100% of your listing’s final sale price to us.
