B.A.M.S. stands for Bachelor of Ayurveda and Surgery, Medicine and Surgery is a medical degree designed for those candidates who have studied about the modern medicine and traditional Ayurveda. This course is a 5 and ½ year course which includes 4 ½ year of study and 1 year internship. But practically this course can takes six years due to various reasons depending on states.

Under this course basic education related to Ayurveda is provided to the candidates.
