What If

What would it take for the world to listen,
to hear the truth of their existence and life;

What would it be if we were to forgo,
The pain, worry and strife?

What would it be if we were all ready
to change the tide in which we live;

Where would we be if we had decided
to stop taking, live simple and give?

Where could we go if we all decided
that it wasn't about what we all had;

Neither home, work or our money
What if living were never so sad?

If we reached out one to the other,
Forgetting our schedule and plan;

What if we lived our lives for the other,
For the betterment of each man?

What if we thought of our neighbors
Before we took the next step;

What if all humans were equal,
No person better than the rest?

What if all were productive
Thoughtful, honest and real;

What if the life we were living
Were peaceful, kind and true?
