Thank you for your friendship invitaion, Yes I do feel very strongly that the "poor" not be seen as "the Other"
I think that is why I am having the challenges I am having right now, To become invisible, to have people who would usually smile and greet me, avoid my eyes has been very interesting. It as if many think poverty is contagious..Or that guilt enters and we must rationalize that being poor is a best a result of individual bad choices.Many in the US are very poor right now because all our resources have been drained in paying for health care and education.
Bu even more importantly.. we can not avoid each others eyes. I have made a vow to in this life look as deeply in as many eyes as possible
