Oh, there is so much in the air. Thanks for your messages, Sabine. We are so fortunate that the USA chose Obama. I think it shows who we really are -- or, perhaps, who we are becoming. And yes, I have noticed that same thing -- how many people "blame religion" here on iPeace. I think one reason is -- when you join, the choices are pretty simple -- maybe too simple. So, I chose "other". But I have had web projects for years, where people have been rejecting religion, in favor of spirituality. In fact -- I see that a lot in people from Europe -- including several Germans I know... They are good people, with loving hearts -- but they are mad at religion. And I totally agree with your analogy -- they are throwing out the baby with the bathwater. Well -- I think it is true that "religion needs to be reborn" -- maybe we are working on that -- a reform, a revitalization. Too often, religion is about a bureaucracy, a rule book. It can crush -- or mislead -- the spirit. So, the rebellion against religion might be good for now -- and maybe some day the beauty of religion can rise in new ways, and people will move back towards it. Much love -- I visited the cathedral in Cologne when I was 19, so many years ago.,..

Dear Sabine:
How interesting to hear about your story. If you don´t mind I would give you a tip in order for you to continue working together with the children from different religions. First is not to mention it´s a spiritual class. Of course the will be afraid of you changing their original beliefs. You could call it a human attitude workshops, relations workshop or human values workshop or how to get along with each other, or the like.
Now-a-days there is an international organization working for peace, who has gathered sicologists, teachers and the like, to settle a set of 16 human values, and has developed a series of dinamics, games, songs and experiments to work on a non religious and non spiritual basis, just to enhance conciousness of the human values in any kind of human groups. It can be applied to schools, enterprises, and groups of people of all ages.
To work with kids they have a manual you can use and try again to have a class with all kinds of kids from different religions together.
You can download the information in their web page
www.16guidelines.org
Download there the panphlet of the 16 guidelines and also the book "Ready, set, happy". It´s already been applied in schools in several countries. It´s really great.
Hope you find my comment useful
Love Rocio
I strongly recommend you to check

Dear Sabine, here are two resources that offer wisdoms from the Baha'i teachings. The first is the Hidden Words, revealed by Baha'u'llah in 1857 on the banks of the Tigris River. Of this work, Baha'u'llah says "This is that which hath descended from the realm of glory, uttered by the tongue of power and might, and revealed unto the Prophets of old. We have taken the inner essence thereof and clothed it in the garment of brevity, as a token of grace unto the righteous, that they may stand faithful unto the Covenant of God, may fulfill in their lives His trust, and in the realm of spirit obtain the gem of Divine virtue. "
The Hidden Words can be found here.

You may also want to visit BahaiWords.com, a site that posts daily short quotes from the Baha'i Writings.

Hope this helps :)

Love and greetings from Israel (not for much longer - off to the UK soon!),
Nadim

Dear Sabine , thank you for your friendship and and kind words.
About my name it is said that it comes form Greece and means virgin, and woman that remains young for a long time... Myself I like my name , thanks to my dear mother who had chosen it for me long before I was born. She knew a powerful and gentle woman with this name and wanted to pass it to her "someday coming daughter"(me)-
In this life living in so many countries and continents i have found different meanings for this same name , Cora is a unique instrument with a harp-like appearance in West Africa, a Mexican group of Indios are called Cora , and I was living close to their region !
-Tibetan pilgrims walking around the Stupa it in the traditional circumambulation or cora, mumbling mantras. etc, etc,
I hope that I have help you a little , peace to you ,cora
