Thanks, my dear. I have no problem with muslim. When I was a little child I lived with them in Lybia, Tunise, Turkey and I naturally love them. I look for Palestine from younger (you know, in Italy many persons work for Palestine free Nation). I have no religion (any religion) problems, I think every people is free to have his religion, culture and life. I think we can live in peace with some common value that are of all humanity. I think the problems are Human Rights, colonialism, imperialism, take away all riches from a foreign land and abuse, and so on.
I know all religion has good value and I give an eye to an Italian NEWSLETTER INTERDEPENDENCE ( www.interdependence.it), magazine for the religions and cultures dialogue, for peace and for cooperation.
Thanks, sometime I'll come to look your group, but for my bad English is difficult for me to partecipate.
Thanks, friend! When I need some explanation or information, I know how I have to ask, you!
Ciao Luisella

Hi Ali,

I’ve been gone for the last couple of weeks spreading light and love through lecturing, the radio show and the video-editing studio.

Just wanted to re-connect and say hi! Although I’ve been gone and not communicating, that in no way diminishes my appreciation of who you are and what you are doing to promote and sustain peace amongst all of us here and everyone within your world.

As with all my friends here, each day I go through my friends list pictures and send each of them, including you, all the love and light I can muster from here. I will continue to do so for as long as it takes for all humankind to experience the Peace we all cherish.

So with that said, I hope you have a wonderful day.

With all that I am,

Joe

Ali: A million thanks for the request and add! May your day be bright, your evening be restful, your life be full and rewarding, and may it be a good long time before you're able to judge its fullness! I shall greatly enjoy your group as I've been remarkably curious about your faith, but seriously lacking in a teacher. Many thanks and brightest blessings to you and yours!

Lieber Ali

Dear Ali

Friend me any initiative which leads to peace.
For me, every religion is equally as good of others.
There is no one better than the other.
For me, only worse which incite people against believing one another.
For me, in end effect is only one God like a sun in our universe.
Every other nation is called God and sun. But I have not yet read about a single war because of the sun. I mean, our sun is the better. Then why because of God and religion in our universe million people have died.
That is why we must, if already trying to find how each religion is almost same as the others, but not vice versa, vie one is better than the other.
But for me this is not an ideal solution. The ideal solution is to convince people to live in peace, no matter what skin color or what religion they are.
Cordial greetings
Zbyszek

Ali I did a mistake, know the language is not English. All this is from Google Translator.

Thank you for the connect, Ali. I've only been to Cairo once, but when I was in Egypt, I felt as if I had come "home" for the first time in my life. (Very strange, given that I'm from rainy, cold, damp Seattle.) Here's to understanding among people!

Dear Ali,

I do have some questions about Islam and the Qur'an, yes. Thank you for asking. I've studied the Qur'an, but I'd very much welcome the wisdom of someone who is Muslim.

Mainly I'm interested with how consistent Islam and the Qur'an is with the philosophy of nonviolence. I have what I feel are two central questions in that regard.

First, what would you say is the general Islamic view of human nature?

Explanation:

I once asked Arun Gandhi if his grandfather (M.K. Gandhi) believed human nature was basically good. Arun replied, "Yes, he did believe human nature was basically good and so do I. I think nonviolence rests rests on that principle."

Unfortunately this view of human nature has been rejected by orthodox Christianity, which is, I believe, the main reason that most Christians fail to follow Jesus' true teachings on nonviolence. The orthodox Christian doctrine of original sin is that human nature is inherently bad. I follow the Anabaptist Christian tradition. And like most Anabaptists, I reject original sin doctrine and believe human nature is basically good.

Second, what verses of the Qur'an support nonviolence? Does the Qur'an have similar verses to Jesus' teachings on the Sermon on the Mount, where he taught, "You've heard it said, 'an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.' But I say to you, do not resist one who wrongs you. If anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other one also” (Matthew 5:39)?

Thanks in advance, my new friend.

Peace be with you,

Marvin
