I feel you are a kindred spirit. I cared for my mother for many years... taking her to appointments, shopping, helping her bathe and such. She had severe rheumatoid arthritis. She had a very independent personality and lived alone in her own home, before she fell and became bedridden. So, until then (when I moved in with her), I came to help her every weekend. I understand the feeling of lightness that comes with the freedom to travel and do more for oneself (although, I loved my mother dearly, and would not have done it differently, if I could).
It must be beautiful where you live! I used to live at the beach, for several years, and I loved it! Now, it is so much more crowded and expensive to live there. So, I satisfy myself with having once had the pleasure of living there. Many have not been so fortunate. And, I love living in the desert! I imagine I would be happy just about any place where I can feel at one with nature. When I figure out how to make my way around this site a little better, I will share with you some of the desert's beautiful sunsets, captured by my camera. Perhaps, you can share some photos too.

Its strange how people find eachother.
You see, I have lived as a single mother in my mothers house for 24 years. the last 4 years of here life was not that good, but I realy didnt have to nurse here. Had to go with here to doctors and hospitals, so the last year of her life, I was nearly not working.
She died for 2 1/2 years ago, and I now tries to get the house in shape.
It costs money, so I have to get a step at the time.
I live by the sea in Norway, so I guess the nature is a bit different from yours.
- but I`m happy I dont have to live in a city.
Life here is good and easy. - a lot of nature around. The one I grew up with, that made me.
A lot of what I am today, I can thank the nature for, like it brought me up too.
After my mother was dead, I had to find out how to live my life for me again. lol
Feel so free now, (sounds so bad. lol) but what I meen, is that I can make plans for travels again, visiting people, things that I havnt done for years.
I have to work some more years, if my back dont stop me. - after that I want to write books, learn how to play the saxofone. lol and paint paintings or something. - realy look forward to it.
About peacework; I think that what I do should refleckt what I belive.
- in some way all I do is work for peace.
I guess I have a good oportunity to do that in my work with children. Well I try to.

I`m not often in here. but will ceep the contact. - tell me some about yourself! :)
I work mostly in school, but I also take jobs as a guide in muceums, and I mix school and muceum by taking klasses to the muceums so they can learn about life in old age there.
I usually takes old cloth on and use my skills in theatre too. :)
