Dear friends,

I got a deparate message from sima Community Based Organization on iPeace.

Perhaps you got this message too, but nevertheless...

Peace, especally in African countries is an illusion. This is so because of failed leadership, which leads to community/social animosty, hence war/clashes, thus no peace.
Moerover, rampant unemployment of youth, the ever present and increasing economic gap between the rich and the poor, education disperities between communities, hence different literacy levels, unhealthy citizenry due to failed health providing institutions, lack of clean drinking water, hunger and increasing poverty rate, corruption, nepotism and favourism in all spheres of government/nations, inaccessibility of donor funding to the citizenry ( lack of trickle down effect) and environmental degradation( forest haervesting in times of war) leading the global warming; this are some of contributing factors and challenges that harness the illusion.

Solution:
We should all come together with one voice and let every citizen own the process of resolution building. This can be achieved through;
- Coaching, mentoring, counseling and holding of training sessions at various locations to the citizens.
- Empowerment of the citizen by ejection of entrepreneurship activities e.g. work through financial assistance directly at the citizen level through project champions.
- Incentive generating activities e.g. sports, poultry keeping, animal husbandry, etc,
- Encouragment of teamwork activities through groups by availing resources nearby.

WHO IS YOUR NEIGHBOUR? Someone who can articulate your fears, challenges, tribulations, share constraints and peace and justice.

Conclusion:
Peace cannot be found if we have not found solutions to the human suffering and pain.

THINK, SPEAK, ACT.
Best wishes,
Johnstone.

The question is: "Can we help by signing petitions or are there other solutions"?

Let's think about it, okay?

Take care and best regards from Holland,

Hans
