I agree that Bush is a major obstacle. The bad news is that his leaving office will not stop the problems we face.
Regarding your question, I have been to Palestine and Israel and I am very familiar with Arab and Islamic attitudes toward the body (as well as Anglo, Jewish, Christian, etc.). I also know it is difficult to realistically imagine anyone going with clothing there. However, my answer is: it feels good to the body, it is freeing to the spirit, and refreshing to the mind.
Thanks for asking. XOXO

I know, send me your msn, I'll try to remember to log into it next time I'm online :) it's just i'm just finishing a blog post and then im off to sleep...
have'nt been to birmingham.... not that I remember.. I lived in London. and I was 8 at the time :)
Theoratically I have msn, but I never use it.. I somehow never got the habit of opening it to grow on me :) maybe cause usually it serves my friends to bug me when I'm trying to work. Not that I'm accusing you of anything!
Well, the key is with the un-educated, or less educated people, then, isn't it... that's the challenge. I find that most of the more extreme perspectives come from there, and those are the problematic ones.
As for me, I'm a university student too :) I study design, live in Tel Aviv..
we can't get them all together at once. It has to start with single people, hopefully it spreads from there. It's a long process. That's why I do this, blog and chat, it's the only solution I can think of in my power to try and push for the change.. in the blog I used to run during the lebanon war, I managed to build a friendship with a lebanese man who began in a totally opposite opinion from me.. but we respected our different views of the matter, and the discussion led us to understand how similar our lives were. We learnt alot, I think, about the de-humanization faceless media reports can create about the other side, and when you speak, even if you don't agree on politics, you can get along - you build relationships and deter from violence. And that blog slowly gained some reputation and thena few others heard about it, and some schoolchildren in spain and brazil heard of it, so we managed to teach a little lesson about tolerance to some young people. So that's how I know it works. Unfortunately though, like I said, it is a long process, not everyone gets it immediately, and sometimes, that only leaves worse forms of solutions to certain situations, as unfortunate as that may be. One day, I hope the change will be complete.
