I am glad to hear things are starting to get better in your country. In the USA, the main thing going on now is the health care debate and Obama's broken promises. Sri Lanka has a special place in my heart, all the more so because the senior pastor at the church I attend is a Tamil from South India. May your beautiful land once again be kmow as Serendip. Christ bless you and your friends and family.
Your Friend,
Matt

Dear Quintus,
so quickly you respond, wonderful! I laughed when I read your comment! There is much in it I understand, much I am learning, knowing what I have to learn, but reading your comment in the Obama discussion I felt you would have some useful pointers for me. This turns out to be so!
2 summers ago a friend, who lived and worked in Germany, invited me on a holiday. He had a girlfriend then, Noi, from Thailand. It was clear from the beginning Noi loved him a lot more then he loved her. She is radiant, funny, headstrong, straightforward and positive. My friend, G. , has always been a bit of a playboy, he has a heart of gold, but love between men and women was like a playground to him. He said to me: "I don't know what to do, I'm not in Love with her..." I watched this affaire develope from a hopeful romance, Noi is definitely a winner, to a tragedy. I'll spare you the details, but the last night I was there, G. was sleeping after the party we had visited, she came to me and talked. She said: "I have never loved any man before the way I love G. I know I will forever love him, but I see he will never return that love to me. When I was young, up to the point where I met G., I loved everybody and the whole world loved me. Then I took all that love, and gave it to G., knowing there was a risk involved: the risk of losing myself. Harry, the love for All is equal to the Love for One, and the Love for One is equal to the Love for All, in this sense, that, were Love tangible, they would be the same in size and weight. I give this to you, so you may get over your grief and mourning for your wife. I don't know if I can make the way back, but you can. I wept over this, and now you are the only one who saw my tears." Even though a tear ran accross her face, she kept smiling. I said: "You speak like Sharon, my oldest daughter. To the most difficult questions she has these mindboggling oneliners that always work. Will you be my daughter? You'd be number 4!" She laughed.
During the time that followed she called me now and then, heartbroken and lonely. Always when I gave her some advice (men are worthless under the circumstances, go out with your girlfriends!) she said: "My father in Thailand says the same!" little pause.."Pappi!" A few weeks later she called and said: "It's back, the love for all."
This I call Noi's equation, it worked, my mourning passed, and usually I'm happier then before!
Again I'm reminded of Noi's Equation, reading your comment. With Noi I visited the Buddhis Temple in Munchen and had a wonderful experience there, of which I may tell you later. Meeting you, dear Quintus, is no coincidence. This is wonderful.
Love & Light,
Harry
.P.S. Noi made this doodle for me the day I left. I made a website this year,
www.happydoodlenoise.com. This is the logo.

Dear Quintus,
Pleased to make your aquiaintance. These are strange times, for the world and for little individuals. For some time now I'm home, down with a severe attack of what turns out to be arthritis in my shoulders. Have always been able to visit friends on a weekly bases, by bike, I have no car. Then I notice that nobody calls or visits, they say: "I'll call you," but months pass and they don't. There are exceptions, like my friend Thierry, who is chronically ill, in a lot of pain, but he keeps up his moral, and stormy weather or no, keeps visiting his loved ones. Now here's my question (to which I feel I have an answer in my heart) shall I let it all go and thus make room for new & unknown? Would that work? Of course I have to keep a positive point of view, and being here helps. But one needs a human touch from time to time,
these last few weeks I have been living in a virtual world only...it scares me a little bit.

Dear Sir,
thank you for your heartwarming notes in the fiery discussion that followed after Obama won the Nobel Award. I took the courage of engaging, saying that this page of comments clearly proved why it's so hard to get Peace, when not even on iPeace I find Peace. "Peace comes in bits and pieces", Yehudi Menuhin once said after a concert in Palestina. "When we play we may obtain 3 minutes of genuine Peace." he concluded. Being a contemperary musician I used contemperary language:"Why do we sound like old p***bored hippies?" It was never my intention to hurt any one, but got the response: "Obama didn't deserve it." I laughed.
Rather then making a point, I try and use my words as an anchor to secure my position on this narrow ledge I'm standing on, believing that Peace lives in my heart, and my heart is the only place in the universe where I may stop all conflict. I still believe that, it's the only solution, take a deep breath and look within, see the Light...There is a way to experience pain and happiness at the same time, they go hand in hand. Sorrow is often, most of the time, directly linked to the deepest love and most beautiful memories we have.
I work, hope and pray. For you. For Obama. For a change of winds. For a change of hearts.
Thank you Sir, for being there.

Thank you dear Francis for your kind message. Yes, these are admirable persons that fuulfiled their purpose on earth by being aligned to their soul with courage, persistancy and truth to serve humanity. I have tears in my eyes each time i have been to Washington and read what is written on the wall of Abraham Lincoln memorial. I am speechless seeing this depth of sight that made the US a leading country until now. Mahatma is an outstanding soul who answered with peace to everything. There are some others known or unknown that were or are good doers, understanding that serving humanity to honor its values is worth than looking for their ego.
I wish that thet their biograpie can be discussed more on the media so all the gentle persons on earth that doesnt see to whom to identify with can be more encouraged to do so that will raise peace vibrations.
I am glad to have this conversation with you, being aligned in this path.
With love
Driss
