Colorado Recall Vote A Stiff Reprisal for Gun Control Push

Any wind still left in the sails of gun control advocates likely died at least for now when Colorado voters successfully recalled two state senators on Sept. 10. This stern punishment came after lawmakers in the Mile High state toughened regulations on background checks and limited the size of ammo magazines.

It was a rout. Billionaire New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg led a team of deep pocketed out of towners in trying to rescue state senate president John Morse and his colleague Sen. Angela Giron, both Democrats. But the grassroots rebellion, fanned and funded by the National Rifle Association and other conservative groups, was more motivated. Recall elections are much easier to organize in the Internet age. If I had the money I'd leave this country. I won't be here, but two more generations of this stupidity and the America we knew, when I was proud to be American 1940's to 50's won't exist. If you believe in Personal Liberty, then you have to believe in maintaining a Balance of Power between the People vs the Government. Also, assuming you are part of the minority right now, do you not see that as a minority you do have influence. Minority interest groups have all sorts of power. I bet you are just sore that you are not head of one of those groups. back then our politicians were a little bit saner and actually governed the country. The older guy is right, it was fun growing up back then. I know because I'm an older guy too. If I didn't have a key to get in the house I'd put my arm through the "milk chute" and open the door. "Those were the good old days". And you could leave your bike on the driveway and get up in the morning and it would still be there. Yup, those were the good old days.
