Yes, I enjoyed V for Vendetta. Well....as much as anyone can enjoy an Orwellian story, eh?

Wanted to tell you too about another very fond memory of the UK. The Hundred Acre Woods. Actually went to Pooh's bridge and played Pooh sticks. That was a nice little hurrah for my toddler days...

Cute little Gift shop there too, licensed by the Milne estate I guess. Pooh Corner.

That's the film.... I did not know it was a book.... I wonder how the film differs from the book. It did have more than it's fair share of stars, but perhaps it was a favor for Drew Barrymore that lots her friends appeared, as she was a Director...... maybe?

That looks a good film... I'm going to put it on my list of ones to watch.

Have you watched "V for Vendeta" ?

He's just not into you...
Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore and Scarlett Johansson lead an all-star ensemble cast of characters dealing with the pitfalls of love and human interaction in this big-screen adaptation of Greg Behrendt's best-selling book. Set in Baltimore, director Ken Kwapis's film moves swiftly between a host of storylines brought to life by a stellar lineup of actors that also includes Jennifer Connelly, Ben Affleck, Ginnifer Goodwin and Justin Long.

Off of netflix. Looks fun. I just saw a pretty cool film called Youth without Youth. Its about a 70 year old man who's struck by lightning and heals into a much younger man with metaphysical powers and insight. Tim Roth starred. It was pretty profound. Not a film to lighten up with, I'm afraid. The powers were all pretty much matter of fact, and not really highlighted. It was his journey that was the focus. In the end its a great love story.

The nun story is unbelievable...... but true!

I've never travelled on an autobahn..... I was surprised when I first went to Germany that all the taxis were Mercedes, in the UK they were thought of as car that only the very rich had. That was back in the 70's, it different now.

It was a Mercedes 500 SL ?, the big one.... lol...... that I drove 100 mph on the M1. It did not seem any faster than 30 mph, Mercedes are such smooth drives.

Have you ever seen how they drive around in Rome..... that's something else!

It would have been a much better experience visiting the Museums as a kid if we were allowed some choice, I expect the kids are now.... that's if they still go on trips like that. I would love to go and see the artifacts now, I would have a whole different view of them and the information they hold.

I watched a good film yesterday "He's just not into you", we all enjoyed it..... first class entertainment.

'When Ross was on the autobahn he was overtake by a car full of nuns.... which made him smile..... he was travelling at a fair speed, they must have been going at least 20 mph faster!'

My girlfriend at the time worked for Daimler-Mercedes, so we had an SLK convertible for a couple days. We were doing about 140 or so, and were passed by two porsches and a Ferrari as if we were standing still. Its been said that a driver on the autobahn must have the awareness and reaction level comparable to a WW2 fighter pilot. I don't doubt it.

Yeah, Night at the Museum is a fun film. I think if you had the time to see what interested you on your tour, it would have been more rewarding. The history in that place is wonderful. I was very taken by the Greek, Egyptian, and Sumerian sculpture too.

Roald Dahl was born in Wales, but he lived most of his life in England so he is not out of place in the England group....

I am pleased that you have so many fond memories of England.

Roald Dahl wrote a wonderful book about what happened to him in the War, I think it's called "Boy", Sophie read it many years ago, but it's a good book for all ages.

Beachy Head to London cover Sussex and Surrey and of corse London. So that's two...... not bad going for a visit.

I did the museum visits as a child on school trips, they were never very interesting as you always had to fill out questionaires and not look at what really drew your attention.

Have you watched "Night in a Museum", I really liked that film.

I've not been on the autobahn, though I have gone 100 mph on the M1!!!!

All the spectacular things that go on in London regarding the Queen and her guards are a wonderful sight, people still try to make the Guardsmen laugh, the ones with the big fury hats who are not allowed to move a muscle for the whole of their period on duty, the horses achieve it too, that is some feet to get a horse to stand rock solid for that amount of time.

Yes, it is beautiful. The country lanes are wonderful. I'm still amazed at how narrow some of the roads are.....but people are better drivers there than here, I noticed. Best drivers I ever saw were in Stuttgart, though. The autobahn is no place for newbies.

I don't know for sure how many counties I visited....traveled by train to London a couple of times, visited Beachy Head, Lewes, Brighton...and stayed in East Sussex, so how many is that?

Loved the walks around London. Visited the Palace, and was lucky to see the Royal Bodyguard on parade in their black cloaks and silver helmets on horseback. That was impressive. Love the statue of Bodicea as well. Of course the British Museum was jaw dropping awesome. The Rosetta Stone...and all those mummies! Got to see my beloved Spitfire too at the Imperial War Museum. '...So many owed so much to so few,' eh?

I loved every moment in the UK.
