Dancing With Shadows
We all live within a framework of memories of our past. Our life experience depends upon it. Our past is the only tool we have to keep us from wondering off into realms of fantasy within our minds. We only relate to the world around us from having formed a basic knowledge of the physical world through interaction with it.
That part of our brain which stores those memories is key to our survival. There is a problem; I call it dancing with shadows. Dancing with shadows is that part of our mind, which does not distinguish between the reality and the perception of reality we created, when we lived the experience. Our subconscious does not distinguish between information it stored with a child’s mind and information stored at a later point in our development. Our subconscious mind does not distinguish between assumptions created in a moment of passion or fear over those developed through a careful process of thought. If we find ourselves dancing with shadows, it may be time to shine the light of truth on the fears we have danced around for so many years.
