No Room for Hate.

There is no room within my heart
for revenge, fire or hate
there is no room within my mind
for any thoughts like these.

I cannot find the words to say
just how it is I feel
but I know from deepest hurt
I must forgiveness find.

The hurt that’s been done to us
cuts sore like a knife,
but we must not, repay in kind
what has been done to us.

Instead we must try and find
the way that is so hard,
and reach out our loving hands
to find some friendship now.

There can be no more healing thing
than opening wide our eyes
and seeing that most other folk
are really just like us.

This first poem was written in memory of all those that died in 7/7 but equally applies to those who lost loved ones in other tragedies....

Why? Religious fanaticism, despair, anger, fear. How do we conteract such travesties without responding the same way..My Mantra: Peace begins with me, Peace begins between you and me, Peace begins at home.

Why all this unrest and life threatening periods?when will man know peace?what do we need to do to stop all these and who should take the blames for all the mishaps? I still have the desires to work with all the worlds good people with the same heart beat, wanting to work in bringing about total world peace.

Now some more Predator Drones will be sent to fire missles into some mountain village and some innocents will
be caught at the wrong place, the wrong time. And then the seeds of outrage and revenge will be planted and the fanatics will find some more receptive to their call for jihad.
You cannot ignore the fact that they struck in New York and Washington also, and only the naive would expect nothing to have come from that.
But, is has to end somewhere.
It is not possible to wage war against a culture or a belief, and as long as the US has an irritating offensive military presence in the Middle East, we will be seeing an unending series of atrocities commited by those
who believe it their duty to oppose it.
There are those who would see it all continue in order to advance their own agendas.

Where is the value of life, of people, when it comes about crisis that lead to testings, that push responses? How can be made the voice of peace be heard- as a value of life?

I have been watching almost 15 to 16 hours directly in TV the events that are taking place in Mumbai.I am shocked and furious at what is happening. All these are the making of politicians, irresponsible religious fanatics and youth who are misled. As a Hindu I do not have hatred towards Muslims.I have plenty of Muslim friends who are with me in condemning this.I pray God to peace at the earliest and pray for the innocent people who have died for their soul to rest in peace.I am proud of the National Security Guards, Army men and Police who have saved many hostages coming from several countries.

Who knows why? It's difficult to get into the minds of people who do this. Why may be the wrong question.

I heard on NPR that the terrorists were youth who were being directed by others. As in other terror attacks, those who actually do the deeds aren't necessarily the ones who planned it. The planners take advantage of the naivety and idealism of youth to send them out on missions which have little to do with the stories they're telling the youth. It's usually related to hunger for power.

The quest for power becomes like an addiction which corrupts the soul. I'm not so sure those who are addicted are influenced by prayers. A more practical solution is needed. Like being aware of dangerous factions growing in a country and defusing their power before it erupts like this did in India.

No body can devide and break unity of Indians and these acts will further make us strong...
Our prayers that good sense prevails to all these negative energy people and their energy turns in positive way for good to humanity......................

It was truly heartbreaking to watch these scenes on television. But the best way to respond to it is not with hate and anger. It only continues the vicious circle of revenge and counter-revenge which keeps our collective karma going. These things would never happen if the perpetrators were aware of the karmic consequences of their actions.
