Greetings, family!
Today is Wednesday, February 4, and the word for the day is "Simplicity."
"Live simply, so others can simply live," say the Quakers. To simplify is to invite peacefulness into our lives. When we have lots of "stuff" in our lives, it is hard to be peaceful. Close your eyes and ask, "How can I simplify my life; what can I let go of?"
If we dare let go of our possessions and the will to control and dominate, we will cultivate a deeper spirit of peace within us because we can accept the present moment as a gift. By simplifying our lives, dropping less important activities and "things," we allow more time for that which matters most.
Today's recommended activity: Think of 3 ways that you can simplify your life and put at least one into practice today.
Our affirmation is, "Today, I forgive myself."
MUSLIM PRAYER FOR PEACE
In the name of Allah, the beneficent, the merciful;
Praise be to the Lord of the Universe who has created us
And made us into tribes and nations, that we may know each other;
Not that we may despise each other.
If the enemy incline toward peace, do thou also incline towards peace;
And trust God, for the Lord is the one who heareth and knoweth all things.
And the servants of God, most gracious are those who walk on the Earth in humility;
and when we address them, we say, "PEACE."
BE GENTLE WITH YOURSELF (Janis Kelly @2008)
Be gentle with yourself;
Be kind and loving;
Be clear that you're a perfect child of light;
Be gentle with yourself;
See only good things;
Remind yourself of who you really are;
Remind yourself of who you really are;
Remind yourself of who you really are.
