For Peace


Buildings falling, fires burning
Throughout their homeland
Night and day more people turning
Running in a new direction
Fleeing from the mass destruction

And in the middle of it all
A mother and a child lay
As a father overwrought
did pray emotions churning
Upon his knees
For peace that day.
