Why are we so afraid of being personal?

That`s all, but actually it`s everything

This is a question I have asked gunilla, and was told by some close friends & my fiance' I am often "to personal" online and it's not safe. However,I am ME and I do so when I feel comfortable, safe and in getting to know each other online I say what I please. I am careful in my wording so as not to offend anyone. but say what I mean..lol my dear friend Ru' once said she understood my comment on her blog once she decoded the "candyflossing". LOL I was trying to say what I thought without um causing any conflict with the blog question. I am the kind of person that talks to anyone, anywhere about anything, very open and honest. More tactful in my honesty in my 'old age" though, than I was when younger(ok so I'm only 47 but have mellowed in my older years)
Many blessings to All. And Thanks gunilla for this post.
hugs x

Thank you so much Jan for your explanation. Yes i knew it must be a reason I just couldn't exactly figure out which. But when reading your words ,of course it has to do with what you are talking about. But everyone here looks so happy,,,but they are still so "closed" But as you say one have to gain a peoples trust before they open up...
How comes that you even answered this strange blog-post? You must have something...;)
You have my fullest respect I have been looking for "you"
Hope seeing you in some group or elsewhere. Feel a strong need of people like you... *smile*

Because we are afraid of not being accepted for who we truly are flaws and all. Many people have never been loved unconditionally. To love this way is difficult when a person has never experienced it. In order to be personal, trust and love most co-exist harmoniously. One must love and accept oneself to be able to return love and acceptance. This is needed to have a close, personal relationship. I speak as a person who is afraid to be personal, because I have not experienced a lot of acceptance in my life. If you want someone to be personal with you, first gain their trust.

It`s nothing more to say. Yes I could write sides but what will that help. So I leave just one single question behind to see if someone can give a reasonable explanation
