As I received your email today, I just sent one off to a friend that used to be in my peace organization. We have known the same frustrations in the past when trying to get an organization to become inspired to act. We have looked into what inspires people to set aside their differences and embrace their commonalities. We asked, "What inspires people to be peaceful inside?" because I didn't want anyone in my organization acting if they were railing in their home, losing their tempers at their kids or spouse. I wanted them to BE PEACE first, because it was too dangerous to send a firecraker into an already hot and unstable country.

Today is my birthday. I'm 61 years old, and I can say that there is more hope today than in the past 50 years. Social organizations, like ipeace, play a great part in that. Do you realize that this may be the first time people have made friends with someone of another culture? There is hope here. Even if ipeace never had an event itself, it might inspire events to occur out of it.

My friend, it sounds like you are ready to do something in the world. Put out the call and see who shows up. These will be your core group. It only takes a few to lead and many will follow.

Here is my vision: years ago I saw peaceful wormen, children and some men walking into a war-torn country and the soldiers laying down their arms. It was the power of their radiating peace that stopped the war. Personally, I would like to gather all the people in the world that ARE PEACE together,walk into the Middle East and inspire people on both sides to tear down that wall.

Maybe you have a vision also. I want to hear it. For it is the vision that leads the people.

Dear Peace_maker :)) Thank you for responding to my blog ! i will try to begin to reply to your request of knowing my vision . . . i view people being able to freely & spontaneously share & exchange ideas, talents, in all sorts of overlapping, creative endeavors, feeling the wondrous deep joys of community & belonging. Knowing the security of family & friends in the real love connections that true trust in oneself & others - - which is possible if we live with & nurture our courageous integrities - - open to our ethical, spiritual individual ahimsa striving consciousnesses - with true respect for the beingness of each of us in our precious individual lives . . .
The specific manifestations are not possible for me to imagine now because when these kinds of creative energies are free -- the outcomes i expect to be beyond what i can grasp now. I can just expect to be surprised, thrilled, delighted & awed for starters . . . :))
