The gate you have experienced is called a tolt, Icelandic ponies and I believe some appaloosas, and may be some other breeds too have it.

I would not worry about him carrying a few extra pounds, he will soon shift it when you start riding him. It shows how well you have cared for him over the winter months that he has not lost weight, he has gained it, you should pat yourself on the back for that.

Sounds as though you are doing a great job on his feet, you won't have to pay for a farrier anymore if you follow the guide lines on the barefoot site.

I'm definitely not familiar with your sensitivity towards this, but am listening with curiousity. Of course, there isn't much I can do, and being that my parents are very positive people would hate to get them, what do American say, uptight or nervous about this, or alarm them to not drive, or other.
Of course the big one has been waited for for years, and if you are right, well....don't really know what to say....
Interesting though, I know that sometimes I think that bad things will happen because perhaps there has been a period of too many calm weeks or months, and something has got to give! Anyhow, we will definitely see.

Nothing I can put my finger on as the cause, not physical, more like metaphysically something...
Also having "feelings" at this same time of earthquake in S Calf USA, and due to my foggy perceptions I dont even know where its coming from other than potential major earthquake there, is a very strong feeling I'm having, that is also being confused my my mind not being clear.
I've been trying to work it out all day and cant seem to clear my head up, and I may just be needing to take a break (meaning too what I'm feeling regarding S. Calf could be way off base or off time also, and taking a break may help clear that up with me).
