From the story I remember hearing about Velcro the guy worked in a bra factory, they of course didn't take him seriously, but, that -didn't- stop him!
I could be wrong but, I'll keep thinking that until I hear otherwise.
I had all kinds of people freaking out in the year 2000. I was amazed how many people climbed my mountain just to hang out of course....
I was never really convinced the world would end in the year 2000 but so many people were that after it was over I figured, yah know what? They were RIGHT! IT DID!
And thats my story and I'm stickin to it
Bra fasteners... hummmm, yeah I'll bet that guy went out and got ripped!
;)

Congratulations for Obama. I believe he dares to dream!!! and I belive that when we dream of something is because that "something", is already there, waiting for us. All that we long for, exists, and because we know it in some hidden part of ourselves, we are able to get it.
Big hug,
Ana

Ahhhhh...the Poem!

Draw a breath
Of clean clear air
No despair
The jaws of death
Let go for now.

Warm Thanks for accepting my friendship here. I sincerely hope that Scared Sacred and Fierce Light will be shown in Boston. If and when they are: I am THERE! Keep on rebelling, my friend, empowered by your uniquely compassionate vision.

Dear Velcrow --

Thanks so much for the vital grace you bring to this place -- and to the world. I'm sitting here starting to do an "online interview" on Ruach, like the one she (and Gordon) just did on you. And I'm thinking about this "activist alliance" that seems to be coalescing in the womb of my soul. It feels like maybe "everything we know" about all these things -- can be brought into brilliant simple activist focus -- as a kind of political action network. A lot of writing on this theme is starting to happen for me -- tuned and made realistic by the advent of Obama -- and his huge network. It feels like a lot of very interesting contacts can come together through this. That point of focus -- is all about fierce light on the streets...

I recall the perfume of flowers forgotten
That infused my heart with fiery passion
Wafting aloft and all over
Mirrored in all intuition

Fear for myself no more echoed
As I soar high over abyss
Burning my fire I have not lost
For I have not misplaced your kiss

As I inhale the scent of flowers in bloom
Thoughts creative stay in motion
Compassionate universal
Kind in oceans of perception

And sunlight warms all directions
United in common continuum
We must nurture our creations
For we are here to love freedom

Dear Vel interesting life you live
a full one
"Life is action and passion therefore we are to live this action and passion at the peril of being judged not to have ever lived" (Gibran I believe? Anyhow, I remembered this since young and loved it)
I wrote to say that I believe I was in New Zealand when someone told me how velcrow was invented. Do you know? Some plant in nature had a similar kind of hook on it and stuck together easily on other things. So, from nature, velcrow was born. And you, of course.

ps I send you a heart shaped potato - real of course

Hi Velcrow - I just read your blog post about your 2004 film experiences in Scared Sacred. (I love the way words can be re-arranged to add further "meaning" to them...)

What really resounded for me was this sentence:
"As is so often the case, the repressive measures taken to supposedly ensure 'security', only serve to make the world a much more dangerous place."

That is so true, and it will keep on happening unless people in power are educated about these kinds of consequences. It will indeed take a much larger person to realize this and start to do something positive to bring all hostilities to a close...

It makes me think that, to some people, driven by despair and loathing, the concept of win-win is so foreign that they can never understand it...

Happy New Year 2009!
Namaste!
~Steve
