I'm a environmental activist. I'm also a global networker and creator of the Maghrebian network of local development associations in rural areas "REMADEL". I have a loud and active "VOICE" for making positive and permanent social change.

I worked on a similar project that became international but I don't think it ever actually linked country to country. It did link state to state on the mall in Washington D.C. But we start local and go global. Perhaps sending some flags over seas for big events. Still thinking on the details and welcoming input from all.

A linked string of flags would be ideal. Do you think it is doable?

About the linked string of flags they don't have to be sewn. you could use fabric paint or markers even what ever works for you. You can embroider, applique write in marker paint something that is relatively durable on a piece of cloth. Something that will stand up to the weather.

I was thinking maybe we could make a sign, saying something like I create peace:__________________ and each filling in the blank with whatever fits us. Then go, at an appointed time, somewhere where many people will see it, i.e, an intersection or highway overpass. THEN we could upload videos or photos of our peace signs in action. I don't know if I can make a flag. I used to be a flagmaker, but I have neuropathy in my arms , hands and sewing would be impossible.

I would be happy to display an art image in my house window. A flag at my house would be another option. Something simple, elegant, and easily understood for what it is.

I wonder if everyone could make a 12x12 flag for world peace we could string them up and display them around the world. it could be pictures poems symbols whatever world peace means to each person and it could travel like the aids quilt? The clayclreams image of dancers made me think of this. It could be part of the event maybe.
