This piece of poetry written by my husband Nabil in 2002, was in response to the irreverence shown to the US secretary of state Powell on his visit to Israel and his acceptance thereof! It is still relevant today, just substitute any name you would like in the place of Mr. Powell ... lots to chose from!
Shame on you Mr. Powell!
by Nabil Sawalha
We had hopes for you Mr. Powell!
When you joined the WASP’s big white family.
We hoped you’d be a different addition, a… Continue

Refuting an opinion on Obama- Baguio Midland Courier
I WANT TO REFUTE BENNY CARANTES’ labeling of Barack Obama, in his column in a previous issue of the Baguio Midland Courier, as a “Kenyan carpetbagger” – quite strong words with an aura of racism.
Obama lived in Chicago, Illinois since June 1985. Hillary Clinton never lived in New York but being a first lady, New Yorkers were gracious enough to give her a seat in the Senate despite her “carpetbagger” status. So, who is… Continue

Michelle Obama clearly outlines an essential message for World Peace in a speech she gave last summer.
THE POSSIBILITY OF BARACK OBAMA
A Recent Speech By
Michelle Obama
It was fear.
Fear Again.
Fear
Fear of everything.
Fear that we might loose.
Fear that we might get hurt
Fear that this would be ugly
Fear that it would hurt our family.
Fear!
But you know the reason why I said… Continue

Given the choice, most voters would rather forget about the Middle East. With so many pressing problems here at home, it is hard to keep worrying about that precarious place. But the Middle East is not easily forgotten. In the first place, our oil supply, which continues to fuel our economy until we find feasible alternatives, requires a measure of stability in the region. And in the second place, John McCain has stated repeatedly that the threat of Islamic extremism is the transcendent issue… Continue

Alas I can not!? I wish iwas one the superwealthy of the world, them i could spread my light from sea to shining sea. My poor CI child has not received her donation, I am headed deeper into poverty myself as are most of those i know! If i had a million dollars I would use it to get out poverty and help as many as i could climb out also, and continue until it was no more!/

I hope to be able to post this song later as a sound-file. Meanwhile, here are the spoken introduction, the lyrics (very slightly updated to reflect passage of time), and the chord progression. I welcome any feedback.
LAND IN THE MIDDLE

I am no longer the personal self
Who was separate and alone.
I am my Christ Self.
I dwell in unity.
My identity is certain.
This is the truth.
I am not less than I once was, but more.
Where once I was empty, I am now full.
Where once I dwelt in darkness
I now dwell in the light.
Where once I had forgotten
Now I remember
Who I am.
Now I go forth
To live as who I Am within the world
To make cause and… Continue

Affirmation to assist in these times of great change
All is in perfection.
I AM safe. It is only change.
I AM prospering regardless of
What is going on around me.
Life is simple & easy.
I AM walking through my life
With Ease & Grace. All is well.
I AM safe & Unconditionally Loved.
All that I need to know
At any given moment
Is revealed to me.
Peace & Love

"My writings are about power. About the paranoia and ruthlessness of power. About the physics of power. In India those of us who have expressed views on nuclear bombs, corporate globalization...views that are branded anti-national- while this accusation doesn't fill me with indignation, it is not an accurate description of what I do and how I think. Because an anti-national is a person who is against his or her nation, and by inference, pro-some other one. But it isn't necessary to be… Continue

Can we really have Peace in this sinful world again? this world is a very creative world created by the creator of peace but now has no peace.i sometimes ask myself i am sure that God meant well for us his creation?YES! he does, but we have come to defile such by committing that which he said not to.

Dear Everyone
This past weekend I visited my parent's home in Brunswick. I had a nice time visiting with them and my boyfriend Tony who I saw Beverly Hills Chihuahuas with. It was cute and moving. I love Tony very much and appreciate him being my boyfriend.
Sunday I bought Tori Amos Live at Montreaux on DVD and watched it, plus I got two great books called Moon Magick and Healing Remedies. I am still reading them since they are big and have lots of fascinating info in them. The… Continue

O PASSARINHO LIVRE
(Elza Fraga)
Morou um passarinho
pequenininho
por muito tempo
bem na pontinha da minha janela!
A mãe dele, coitadinha,
caiu dum galho bem alto
e meninos, com atiradeiras
abateram a bichinha, por maldade,
e jogaram pela ribanceira!
O passarinho tinha uma cara triste,
triste de dar dó!
E vivia tão só e desolado
que resolvi que ia ficar ao seu lado
pra… Continue

The state of the U.S. economy has been at its worst since the Great Depression. Dow Jones dropped 800 points five days ago, and only went up 400 points four days ago. The Bailout Plan did not pass through Congress, but then it did pass (give thanks and praises). My physiology professor said that at the rate that we are going, if the nonsense in Washington does not stop, then my university and all public and private institutions will close within two months. We need a solution to the… Continue
I don’t know how long I had stood in front of the mirror before I realized I was in a state of shock. I stayed frozen in time and space. Staring into the mirror and coming to realize that the reflection I was seeing was not my own was the most frightening moment of my life.
I was looking at myself but it was not me looking back, it was a very sad, very unhealthy, overweight woman who looked nothing like…Continue

Continue

1. Change doesn't start on the surface. It's generated from consciousness. This has been true throughout history. If both Buddhism and Christianity could begin with one person, let us not think in terms of numbers and odds. It may sound grandiose to compare ourselves to great spiritual guides, but we act collectively, as an alliance. Our strength comes from critical mass.
