No Room for Hate.

There is no room within my heart
for revenge, fire or hate
there is no room within my mind
for any thoughts like these.

I cannot find the words to say
just how it is I feel
but I know from deepest hurt
I must forgiveness find.

The hurt that’s been done to us
cuts sore like a knife,
but we must not, repay in kind
what has been done to us.

Instead we must try and find
the way that is so hard,
and reach out our loving hands
to find some friendship now.

There can be no more healing thing
than opening wide our eyes
and seeing that most other folk
are really just like us.

This first poem was written in memory of all those that died in 7/7 but equally applies to those who lost loved ones in other tragedies....

Everyday is a horrible day for humanity. Everyday is a blessed day for humanity. Why do these things happen? The answer is as old as the question. It happens because it has to. That doesn't mean it should be condoned. It absolutely means it needs to be understood. There are many reasons for violence. Non violence is the only weapon to use against it. But it is very important to know what the target is. Thankfully, the target for we who choose non violence is a "what" and not a "who." Most acts of violence of this nature occur for one or more of the following four reasons:1) the failure of economic systems to prevent economic desperation; 2) the fear and hatred which is garnered through a lack of spiritual development, often due to a religious belief system which pretends to serve a god; 3) the frustration which comes from a sense of powerlessness and therefore a resort to venting rather than working out a solution to problems is tantamount; 4) lastly, a desire to just "do something" without thought to consequences beyond the immediate. Unfortunately, most nation states and ruling empires exhibit the conditions which foment all of the above. And yet, all of these conditions can actually be changed quite easily and quickly, if those who want to see it happen actually work to organize the active principle of waging peace.

I agree with Tree Thunderchild- we should be pro-peace, and not anti-war/terrorism. Even though it sounds the same, it's the difference in Energy that each of the above carry...

what can you say...no cause justifies the horrors that are going on in India or the terrible things going on in the rest of the world,.....I cannot for the life of me understand why people are motivated to commit such despicable acts.....the end does NOT justify the means. Bless you David for not allowing the world to forget

Perhaps a "horrible day for humanity", perhaps not.....amidst the pain and chaos, some individuals became angels of comfort and caring and protection. They were called out of their ego-selves and into their human-selves, to connect with and help others. That's in the pictures too -- which do we choose to see?
I can't help but think of the Chinese story "Good Fortune...or Bad Fortune?"....

Namaste,

May those who are suffering at this time of turmoil be surrounded by Divine Light and peace. I send my love to them.
