No Room for Hate.

There is no room within my heart
for revenge, fire or hate
there is no room within my mind
for any thoughts like these.

I cannot find the words to say
just how it is I feel
but I know from deepest hurt
I must forgiveness find.

The hurt that’s been done to us
cuts sore like a knife,
but we must not, repay in kind
what has been done to us.

Instead we must try and find
the way that is so hard,
and reach out our loving hands
to find some friendship now.

There can be no more healing thing
than opening wide our eyes
and seeing that most other folk
are really just like us.

This first poem was written in memory of all those that died in 7/7 but equally applies to those who lost loved ones in other tragedies....

"How can we change them with no violence?"

How will violence change anything? Gandhi said, "An eye for an eye and soon we are all blind." Gandhi won the freedom and liberty of the second most populated country on Earth, and he never fired one gun, not one missile, not one piece of armament. The ONLY way we can stop this is by proving that peace, love and harmony are far more powerful than the ways of war.

Perhaps the best thing we can do now is to find out how we can each help. Maybe someone knows people from over there that we can start sending encouraging emails to. Maybe someone knows of a foundation that is sending relief that we can contribute to. We can already send videos of love and compassion through the miracle of the internet. Do we know what they need the most so we can find who has that and can get it to them?

Let's be proactive and seek to better the situation so they know that the hatred of a few is no match for the love of millions.

Put it from your mind. Another horrible day? Yes, the violence and the hurt and the pain of humanity is there again. But it is a great day. A birthday, a wedding, a hug and a smile. It is peace and tranquility, it is our purpose not to lament, but rather to inspire goodness. Focus on easing the pain, not prolonging it with memorials. Focus on the little moment in which you hold out your hand, and another takes it. Focus on the love you feel when you look at your family and friends, and they look back at you. Put blood and gore and tears out of your thoughts, for when you hold it there you keep alive the suffering, and do not allow it to fall quietly away. Praying will not help time reverse, but living well will allow time to take the path of peace in the future. Put it from your mind. Another glorious day for humanity.

I am happy to say that after spending the last 15 minutes or so on iPeace I feel better about the world...I was angry this morning after reading the world news and now I feel more acceptance, hope, forgiveness and PEACE. How about that? :o)

Bright Blessings to All,

Reading everyone's comments lifts my spirit - the grace and kindness and wisdom and generosity on these pages is SO VERY VERY IMPORTANT. Thank you ALL for putting it out there - to see so much LOVE energy in one place has been rare in our world of late - mostly we see a lot of horrible stuff everywhere and only encounter a bit of grace now and then in small pockets....not sure why it keeps surprising me, but to see so MANY people on a track of PeaceMaker still inspires me.

So, yes, horrible things have happened - but here is the thing: Let us not see THIS DAY as a horrible one, (for indeed, what horror is there in the simple and life-affirming rising of the sun and his illumination of our planet?) but rather let us note that it is some of the DOINGS OF HUMANKIND that generate the horror....and yes, we may feel angry about it, and yes, we must mourn these things, and then - I think - we must look ever deeper within to our very source - to find answers - not answers to "why" but answers to "how" - HOW might we proceed to transform every cell, every light-particle of OURSELVES into beings of enough clarity, awareness, unbounded unconditional love, pure openenss, and vibrant health on all levels - let us BE PEACE, so that every dream we dream, every thought we think, word we speak or deed we do is in perfect alignment with the mending of all that is. I have no doubt that from this place we WILL know what steps to take, and that providence will be by our side as we, the PeaceMakers, catalyze healing of all we encounter.
(Actually, I dont mean to totally discredit the question of "why" for in understanding the pain of those who create pain, we may see better how to serve their healing...so do seek to discover answers to "why" so long as this moves us towards healing and is not the sort of "why" that keeps us emotionally victims.)

Whew. And Im also as human as the next person, and so from my simplest place, I am breathing - Peace In, Stillness, Peace Out, Stillness. . .

Thank you all for your beauty.

Love,
Maya

‘Abdullah b. ‘Amr b. al-’As reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: Verily, Allah does not take away knowledge by snatching it from the people but He takes away knowledge by taking away the scholars, so that when He leaves no learned person, people turn to the ignorant as their leaders; then they are asked to deliver religious verdicts and they deliver them without knowledge, they go astray, and lead others astray. I wonder if there would ever be the end of this hatred. These are the times when we begin to question the existence of God. How long the innocent people will be losing their lives to perpetrators. Will there be an end...

Please, friends of i-Peace, don't distract us from being peace and from doing step by step peace! The horrour may give us more power and tension and will-love to build peace in ourself and in our World! Compassion, please! We are One! Luisella

Humanity....the quality of being humane, kindness, benevolence. I looked it up just now because I needed a reminder of what it is we're really supposed to be--I'm feeling very angry and disheartened the past couple of days from stories I've heard about man's inhumanity to man and animals. I'm praying for all the sufferer's and praying to find forgiveness in my heart. Peace on Earth, my friends.
