To be honest I am never completely sure what importance the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse has to the world, at least not at the start of an examination. I instead let the extrapolated metaphorical archeology and the represented philosophy within the art determine the answer. The Horsemen appear in the Christian Bible in chapter six, the Book of Revelation and represent Conquest, War, Famine and Death. References to the Horsemen show up in popular media characters like the…

A research done in England found that a baby smiles 400 times a day, an adolescent 17 times and an adult doesn’t smile at all! The more successful one keeps a very stiff face. Is roughness a sign of success? Is being stressed a sign of prosperity, growth or dignity?
You should smile more. Every day, every morning, look at the mirror and give a good smile to yourself. You know what happens when you smile? All the muscles in your face get relaxed. The nerves in your brain get…

How is it going? You are in the middle of the influence of the triple conjunction, now! Two news items stand out for me this week, out of a few contenders which illustrate breakthroughs arising out of the union of Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron in Aquarius. The first is scientific: research has shown that people with Down syndrome do not develop certain types of cancer because of their genetic make-up, which apparently brings up new avenues for finding anti-cancer therapies. The other story is…

Love
is spreading across the planet like a wildfire.
Rapturous bliss can be felt by anyone, no matter
where they are in their process of opening.
It is in the grids.
It is time.
It has come.

Though much of who and what we are changes as we journey through life, our inherent worth remains constant. While the term self-worth is often used interchangeably with self-esteem, the two qualities are inherently different. Self-esteem is the measure of how you feel about yourself at a given moment in time. Your worth, however, is not a product of your intelligence, your talent, your looks, your good works, or how much you have… Continue

These few things I do as my contribution to our beautiful, but ailing, planet:
Grow my own pesticide-free tomatoes in pots on the patio
Recycle paper, tin, and glass
Drive as seldom as possible
Use vinegar and soda as cleansers rather than the chemical commercial cleansers
Write to my congress people supporting legislation to use "green" fuels and energy sources
Support sites that contribute to this effort

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up
into fragments by narrow domestic walls;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason
has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into…

I went bankrupt, my business died
I buried it and at first I cried
But then up from the ground grew the most beautiful tree
with fragrant pink blossoms and fresh spring leaves
Friends and acquaintances gave their condolences
I told them that at last, I'd come to my senses
They looked at me, puzzled -you're in denial, or shock
I showed them my tree and all the birds that it brought
They spoke in hushed tones, this was some kind of…

If you discover that somebody really loves you, listens to you, then you begin to change. You come out from behind the barriers of fear that you have erected around your heart.

And a youth said, "Speak to us of Friendship."
Your friend is your needs answered.
He is your field which you sow with love and reap with thanksgiving.
And he is your board and your fireside.
For you come to him with your hunger, and you seek him for peace.
When your friend speaks his mind you fear not the "nay" in your own mind, nor do you withhold the "ay."
And when he is silent your heart ceases not to listen to his…
