Devi, was reading this and thinking of your words (now re-read) a day ago referring to the way Germany may be going after the shocking news on Sunday....I pasted these from The Los Angeles Times...

Merkel's conservative Christian Democratic Union takes 33.8% of the vote. The Social Democrats' crushing defeat clears the way for Merkel to align with the Free Democrats.


**She said she would initiate talks with the Free Democrats about forming a center-right coalition. Such a pairing would enable Merkel, 55, to tackle the contentious issue of labor-market reform in Germany, where companies complain about stringent worker protections that they say drag down business and competitiveness.


**With the Free Democrats in her corner, Merkel also is likely to try to halt the planned phase-out of nuclear power, another highly emotional issue in Germany, where the Green Party and many ordinary people oppose such plants.

**And crucially for the U.S., a new center-right coalition will probably be steelier in its continued commitment of troops to the war in Afghanistan, a deeply unpopular undertaking in Germany.

......So?,what's next?.....It appears your Country will be going the same way Politically as mine.....It will be a bland and faceless set of bureaucrats with little interest with the 'ordinary' populous but only those holding wealth and power........Unacceptable, but that looks like what might be in store.

It will be interesting for me to see your take on this catastrophe; don't forget, my intelligence regarding German Politics is a trifle limited but must be improved, as what is happening Globally is of great importance to us all during the years of change after Obama's election to President.

ohhh so very kewl sista' Robby !! just read ur comment bout guitar,playin ur songs ..gettin out once a week,etc....am very happy for you sis :-))
yup, I know all about da "in hose alone way to much" is my life..I go 1 time month to Doc apt. and that's all..I was gettin out a lotover the summer with Des here ;-))
but since he went back ta Scotland not been out since took him to Chicago (hard on me as longest i been in a car in years!) to airport on Sept. 10th,got home very late n I only been outa' da house 1 time since,to go to Doc. :(
I have sooo much I need go do..but not been feeling up to it. Besides no motivation my energy level been very low. Also,spending way to much time laying in front of da computer,online all day,night 'till I get so blurry eyed can't write or read anymore...
my Des keeps me on chat & phone so long every day,barely have da time or energy to do anything else!!!!! *sigh* he misses me big time,i miss him too,but this constant connection online n phone is wearin me out !!!!!!! me needs sum balance too...

sorry i bailed on this group awhile ago, had to much to keep up with,lol..
am doing a lot of work tryin get an online green biz up and running..me and Des need money,asap to get me moved to Scotland n well to live in general..sooo being on here is limited time available..to hang out here..but missed the group,sooo am baaaack :-)

"I heard the news today, O'boy!".......Just a quickie while I have a few moments, Devi. I can see how you may be a little miffed about today's election result......at a time when Germans are outraged at the excesses of capitalism, the greed of the bankers and the bonuses they take, they have given the centre-left its worst result in nearly 60 years.......The voters may not like casino capitalism, but they seem to treasure more an efficient crisis-manager, which is how Angela Merkel sold herself. It appears to me............
Don't really know how it's going to affect you and your Country, after all, Merkel wasn't exactly showing her colours too much these last four years (although that's only what I notice but my knowledge of German politics could be given a little improvement!)...The Greens picked up a coupla points, didn't they?, so that's not such a bad thing (and your Greens are quite vocal, I believe).....Anyhow, good luck for the next four years...We've our own probs over here with the descent within the newspapers and public opinion regarding our Prime Minister and his Leadership!........byeeee..
