Finding Forgiveness

In a little under a month, God Willing, I will be celebrating my 15th year of sobriety. When I quit drinking, my life changed dramatically. The anger and the rage left, but I still couldn't find the peace I was searching for. Starting my fourth month of sobriety a counselor suggested that since the 12 Steps of AA worked so well for me, that maybe I should use them to deal with my co-dependency issues.

A lot of emphasis is put on numbers and dates these days. I constantly find myself confronted with 11 11 its in phone numbers, prebook tickets even my son's school raffle. Since I heard about the global meditation that takes place at 11:11am. I have tried to make it part of my daily routine.

So now we are coming up on 07/08/09 I though at maybe 12 seconds past 10:11am we could all maybe stop for that second and just smile. No matter what you are doing or with whom...

On history, media, social learning, culture, peace, development and... us...

Perhaps the biggest obstacle for peace is the history of war and violence; and the teaching/promotion of violence through media. 'Histories of Peace, Love and Harmony' may need to be written and studied in schools and universities. And we, humans, need to deal with violence in films, games, and throughout the media.
