I've been traveling a long way from home...
I just walked away-- Never dreamed of running away,
Needed to get away, from where I was just a child.
Trying to make my way; just to prove I have grown.
Gotta keep moving-- I wish I could stay...
But I gotta fly, I hear the call of the great blue wild.
Walking my path, that may just lead me home, but I'm not alone.
I guess, I can be thankful for one more…

On the surface, at least, the purpose of a system of justice is to bring justice. In America, however, every defendant has the right to legal counsel. Every once in a while a sharp and crafty lawyer can get the defendant off, even if he was caught with blood on his hands. Such is the power of a persuasive argument. But is justice served when legal arguments and loopholes are used to subvert the truth?
We see unfolding before our eyes a tragedy in Gaza. Innocent civilians are losing…

"With a pure heart and a receptive mind, and without the veil of doubt and restlessness of the mind, listen to the exposition of the nature and means of liberation."
~ Sage Vasishtha

Of course the War in Gaza / Israel is insanity. Jimmy Carter has said that Israel's treatment of Palestine amounts to apartheid. Velcro Ripper's blog post calls Palestine a Concentration Camp. The Irony just drips. But this "irony " that is so deadly real. Hamas does not answer to Lasting Cease Fire. Apartheid, Concentration Camp. 1,500 injured....maimed. 385 dead.
Can a suicide bomber be far behind ? Mamied, dead....
Insanity....Insanity....enough....enough....

From The Front Porch: The Day After History Was Made
It was a day that was to be unlike any other
For it was the day a new Chapter in this life book
Was about to be written a new verse soon read
To be written with raw emotion and imbued
With quiet silent power where the vote that
Would soon rewrite all American and Global
History would with such certainty..finally be said
For on this day…

From The Front Porch: A Dream For America
Last night when I sought sleep. It just somehow kept moving further and further away. Every time I would say please just come a little closer to be near to me. It would move further back and say just chill not just yet OK. I then said fine but please just tell me what it is. That you want my tired sore eyes to see. It was then that I looked up to see. All my African and American…

Came this dawn of America's Son
from humbled ashes i arose
carried forward with neither
bitterness born from an innate
ability to persevere and cope
came the morning clouds of
their mantle of determined
ambition where they came
and placed before me a prayer
wrapped up in the
Audacity of their Hope
from tainted water of pain
once red worn white before…

I just received a lovely note, and the following letter from Robi Damelin, who I wrote about in my previous blog post "The Courage to Forgive in the Holy Land." She found my recent blog on Ipeace. With Robi's permission, I share this letter from her, written yesterday...

May there bepeace on earth!
I am very concerned about the Middle East and Afghanistan. I think it would be helpful to keep blogging about this from time to time.

‘‘All world religions are already for world peace in this way, as are all humanitarians of whatever ideology’’. Dalai Lama
What is Peace?
This question may seem very classic and trivial to answer, nevertheless if you think carefully; it is not something that you used to know it at the first sight. Today, wherever you go, peace is the topic people vastly discuss in a largely invariable way. It is because people in 21st century call for the peace…

This is my first blog, so I don't know what I am doing. But I guess that the new year is something where we give new intentions. Yet I really like the notion of following the lunar cycle, and I placed my intentional energy a few days ago in the new moon.
And for me the intention was a recommitment of effort, for as I see the world has begun to impact, what I call the "Final Limit". Now I see the growing need for Bodhisattva's to arise. And of course I offer myself, yet, it is as always…

Dear Everyone
I had a good christmas overall. I got to go skiing with my family and spend some valuable time with them. I got some wonderful gifts, including an electric acoustic guitar. I also got money which I bought two pagan books with, a cd of Live and Celtic Woman on DVD in concert. I got a nice calendar, but most importantly, I stayed sober. My parents drink but they control it, but its still uncomfortable, even though I would never trade my five, almost six years of sobriety for a…

copy of today's post from my
blog "writer's flow"
I was very happy to find the iPeace site this week, especially because I was in time to participate in their first “iPeace Day”. There are some physical gatherings occuring around the world and a lot of virtual events happening too. I could say a lot about the idea of peace, though I believe that most people already get it, or refuse to try to get it. I have been contemplating what to…

Happy New Year to you dear one.
I am strong enough not to cry. I am strong enough to cry a river.I am strong enpough to be vulnerable. I stand by those that are my true friends and people that I hold in esteem. Those that treat me with respect and communicate with me. I have no room for anyone that wishes harm to me. I would rather stand alone then be with anyone that is cruel to me I cherish my friends and that is true. When I allow myself to feel the extreme of love and the extreme of…

This morning I finally "put my money where my mouth is," by rising at 4 a.m. PST and praying for world peace with millions of my fellow brothers and sisters around the planet. Although I felt initially resistant to getting up so early, I realized that I cannot purport to be a "peacenick," and then sleep through the revolution! At a result, my husband, my roommate and I spend a lovely hour together praying, meditating and chanting together and I would like to share the lyrics to some of my…

“It is the function of creative people to perceive relations between thoughts, or things, or forms of expressions that seem utterly different, and to be able to Connect the seemingly Unconnected”. –William Plomer
SELF-ORGANIZING-SYSTEMS (S.O.S.)
Watch a large flock of birds in flight in the city. It is a liquid mass of self-propelling feathers. The flock swoops, dives and turns on a mark, before
settling en masse on another roof.

You can't beat the system
The group loyalty and individual sacrifice that are an inherent part of "SICU SOS" (Self Organisating Systems) can only exist in an environment of complete trust. Altruism doesn't survive inequitable contexts. Leadership is essentially exploration, and hierachical systems, in practice, are extremely prone to corruption because they are based on reward and fear. Capitalism is crowded with people trying to…
